| Towns featuring Baroque architecture are spread in different areas of the east of Sicily. They were all rebuilt after a 1693 massive earthquake. A general reconstruction plan was drawn, but local materials were used, which resulted in colours varying from a town to another and ranging from lava stone black to limestone white and to sandstone orange |
