What?

MYplaceinSICILY was created by Luca Schillaci, a freelance driver and guide in Sicily and a Sicilian in the first place. This Website provides travellers with all the information they may need to organize a journey to Sicily: general facts, tips on how to move around, places to visit, a driving and guiding service tailored on travellers' needs. Family-run self-catering accomodation is also promoted on this site. The emphasis is on pictures rather than on texts, as they convey a more direct feeling of what can be experienced in Sicily

Why?

There is a lot more to Sicily than what package tours generally show: Sicily is a hoard of hidden treasures! A reason for this may be that package tours are not usually produced in Sicily and/or by Sicilians. Moreover, biased views towards Sicily make it often a different place from what you expected: this requires changing some travel plans when already on the spot. For all these reasons, relying on local professionals is a formidable tool to make the best of a journey to Sicily or to develop quality products focused on Sicily

For Whom?

This is not a commercial Website or a compehensive guide for tourists: a special point of view on Sicily is featured here which some may not find "palatable". MYplaceinSICILYy does not want to lure people in, does not cater for mass tourism and does not sell package tours: what it does is offering suggestions, inputting ideas and provide travellers with the means for self-building their journey to Sicily or their own point of view on Sicily. Mission will be fully accomplished if this Website also helps a) companies to develop quality products exploiting the full potential that Sicily has b) local professionals to invent creative ways of doing their job in Sicily
